Question Advantage of tin foil caps ?

Are they better for some reason ?

I doubt its much better (than al foil), maybe if you want the "best".

Good site overall, but why does he keep saying that polystyrene has a lower dielectric constant than polypropylene when the opposite is true? Polystyrene has a K of 2.5-2.6; polypropylene has a K of 2.1-2.2 and teflon has a K of 2.0 - 2.1.

Aside from this, it looks like a very informative site.

My idea was that in the case of tin foil caps, the leads may be directly soldered to the foil.

The contact to aluminum is always questionable. And its different materials which might make a "battery".
