Coolant and lubricant are two different things. Although I've heard water is good for something... might've been a plastic.

Rumor has it milk works great for copper

Actually when working with alumnium Tapmagic functions as both a lubricant and or coolant. The stuff also works wonders when turning on the lathe.

well i ordered the srews and tapmagic (a 6oz bottle i think, the smallest they had, should be more than enough) through mcmaster .. the rest (i.e. the taps) i'm getting locally ..
i went to rona/revy today .. the only place that actually had the tap i needed, it was $7CDN .. but it came with a HSS drill bit, so its all good
