Can a X2 cap be used in place of a snubber cap?

Hi all,

I have some surplus Rifa PME 271 M X2 0.1uF caps rated at 250VAC. Are these caps suitable for replacing the snubber cap.? I realise most snubber caps. schematic rating the snubber at 630V.

250V AC is 630V DC in most caps.

I do all the time! I like the Rifa caps as they are cheap and very good.
