Default Looking for this heatsink in silver.

I'm looking for this heatsink in silver. Aavid only makes black. Ebay is no help. Thanks!

They make black because it has better emissivity and performance trumps appearance! You could sandblast one to get to bare aluminum and have it clear anodized, but why?

Default "touch safe" exposed heatsinks don't benefit from being black

black heatsink added radiation cooling really only makes a difference at very high delta T - near 100 C - way too hot for something you can touch

It arrears Ohmite makes a similar enough sink that is not black. Search over.

Never done it, but for others in the same plight, you might be able to remove the black anodizing with some sort of acid or perhaps a strong base like "easy off" oven cleaner or drano (lye), some rubber gloves and a 3M green scratch pad....

On a separate topic, I have found easy off is the best paint remover for steel or plastic items, and a heated lye solution is what the professionals use for paint stripping small objects...and even furniture!

HeatSink USA sells quite a few extruded heat sinks that are 'raw' aluminum

A local store sells those in bare alu. Problem is we are not in the same country.
