ASC Metal Polypropylene Caps

You have listened to an ASC metalized polypropylene on your speakers. The Lexan TSE with the NX-483 tubes in it that I brought to your house had a 20 uF 400 volt ASC mystery cap across the B+ that I got at the Dayton hamfest a few years back. Another diyAudio member who bought the same caps called ASC. They replied that the caps were "zinc metallized polypropylene."

The tall metal ASC motor run caps that we have been using in power supplies do contain oil, but they are polypropylene film caps. The SSE's I build use these.
