I just bought an 1176 compressor kit from Hairball audio as part of a research project I am doing, and I want to swap parts from the kit with more sonically pleasing components, closer to the original Urei 1176 design. If anyone has any experience in such modifications/customisation and can shed some insight into what parts are good to source, and where, I would really appreciate the input. Thanks.
