Bit of a train ride (or drive) for you but there are parts here in Seoul:

(Google maps)

37.531599,126.963817

Near train station...use the raised walkway to get there.

There is another building dedicated to parts that I visited to get some STK power amps but I only know that it is within a few subway stops from the above location.

Difficult for me to search for not knowing Korean.

Hope you get a better reply.

Hi DUG,

thanks for your reply.

I agree with you... is very difficult to search in the web due to the korean.

If I have a chance to go Seoul I will follow your indications.

Cheers

Also in Seoul, but try the Yongsan electronics market, its huge. Could try the Itaiwon district but that has become very tourist oriented and I am not sure if it would cater to DIY.

Same thing...I should have mentioned the name.

Sorry,
I guess I am a bit of a techno-phobe, maps are something I keep in my head (and my music is vinyl, my motor bikes have carburetors and (to me at least) google maps is one of those things that chardonnay sippers have on their iphones).

But I envy Enrico, having been there on business, S Korea is one of the few countries that I have visited where I would return with the family for a holiday. Very very old and interesting yet very modern with wonderful warm hearted people.

Been there 13 times...I would vacation there but from here it is almost as far away as you are.

I take the train in to that area...and a large market area with lots of small stores...very packed...is that the Itaiwon district you mentioned?...(yes, I sometimes have time on trips to play tourist)

If it is then I have not seen much in the way of DIY there.

Hi guys,

thanks a lot for all the info that you send me... I really appreciate.

Johno, looking your flag you are from Australia. I never been there as I never been in Seoul. I joint the country in Ulsan last January, I will stay up to middle next year (as per plan) and still I don't have time to visit Seoul.
You are right, the country is very nice and the people too... what surprise me when I coming here for the first time is the fact that the very few people speak english and is not easy to move around... but I am sure that in Ulsan have some place where can found parts and tools...

DUG, 13 times here?...Wow! You are from canada so I suppose that you was here for work.

Cheers,

Enrico
