Hi,
Just a quick (and probably daft) question: I am in the process of constructing my DACKit. The 0.01 FKP2 and 0.047 MKS2 Wima caps I am using have the marking "63-" on the body. Does the "-" refer to the polarity of the cap? I am trying to ensure that I don't install them backwards!! Any hints well appreciated - the datasheets didn't really help in this case, and search wasn't that helpful either! Thanks! Jon |

Film caps generaly aren't polar, so you can stick them in any way round and it shouldn't make any difference.

The "-" means "DC" (so 63V- means that the dielectric can stand 63V maximum).
the "~" instead means "AC" and is the maximum rms ac voltage usable with that cap. Cheers Andrea |

Cheers for that - an important point Andrea,
I've got the caps in, and am awaiting my Black Gates and hook up wire from AD - then it's all systems GO!!!!!! I must admit that I have learnded masses already, and there's a million miles more to go on my audio journey!! Jon |
