I want to test my gainclone, but there's a small problem:
the gainclone has RCA inputs, and the frequency generator has a BNC output, and uses coaxial cable. For sure, I'll have to build (or buy) a BNC->RCA adapter. But what should I put in it? Only 2 plugs, nothing more? Or terminate the coax line with a 50R resistor from live to ground? Alex |

It doesn't matter at audio frequencies. Just use the converter.

Many surplus shops sell such converters:
http://www.allelectronics.com/cgi-bi...RCA&type=store I would not worry about termination; test your amp with the termination you expect to use in the real world. (i.e. 10k/20k etc, not 50 ohms!) |

Hi Bricolo,
From many hi-fi shops there are also 75 coax cables available with a RCA cinch at one side and a BNC at the other side. These are intended to connect (home) video equipment together. Such a cable serves me pretty well for the same purpose as you have. Cheers |
