Hi , I bought from a junk shop an old Marantz 16B power amplifier , he said that only one channel works ... and so is
I was hoping it was not a serious problem but it is not so, on left channel the output transistors are burned the 16B is equipped with two pair of Motorola SJ3679 and SJ3678 ...
I could not know anything about these transistors , I found little information on the web most of the time by people like me trying to repair a very old amplifier ,
I read about possible replacements with NTE 130 for sj3678 and NTE 219 for sj3679 and I think they are the only safe information but I can not find them
and I can not find replacements for them even .
For now I solved by dividing the four working transistors on 2 channels amplifier , fortunately the pilots are not damaged and all works
Do you have any more information or ideas on some more possible replacement?
Thanks , Alex .
