Got my first PCBs from ITEADstudio today.
There was 12 pieces instead of the promised 10

Looks perfect.
3 weeks from order to arrival in DK ... not bad at all

With regards to cut out information, ITEADstudio want this information on a Mechanical layer .... seems like the right way to do things

... now I just need to order some components from Digikey to be flying

Those boards look very nice. What software do you guys use to design and layout the boards to get Gerber file? Freeware I hope. What was cost and how long did it take?

It cost 10 usd for 10 boards 5x5cm at ITEADstudio.
It took 3 weeks from order until I received the boards.
Here is a good list of PCB SW https://www.olimex.com/PCB/DesignTools/

I use a very old PCB SW, because I have gotten used to this SW ... think there are many good FreeWare options today ... Eagle has a light version limited to 10x8cm boards that many uses ... KiCad looks nice ...

Wow, you can't beat $10 for 10! It's unbelievable how they can do small quantities this cheap - I guess it is all robotic? I might have to try squeezing my designs small to get this price point. Thanks.

They have other sizes like 10x10 cm for 24 USD .... see list here
PCB prototyping

Have some black 9x5 cm, 2 layer bords in order

At some point I will have to try 4 layer .... gives some very good possibilities for unbroken GND layer and better layout of supply voltages

Sure thing ... but I'm waiting for components from Digikey, and I'll get the small amp (see post #21) to work first

By any chance did you select board dimensions from the "Sick of Beige" standard PWB sizes? (See < http://dangerousprototypes.com/docs/...PCB_sizes_v1.0 >.)
