Probably a basic query but I want to build a Salas HV regulator and the transformer required must have a 230Vac secondary output which is the same voltage as my mains supply.
I have a couple of spare isolating transformers that I'm not using - are these OK to use as my transformer for the regulator? Am I right in thinking isolating transformers are EI type transformers with a 1:1 ratio? Thanks |

I have used Isolation transformers for tube preamps with a 1:1 ratio .... they were the kind used in the shaving plug in your bathroom , they worked pretty good ......
