Hi,
I'm building some interconnects based on a design by platenspeler. They are working out really well - so I built another pair with the silver I had left. Now, one of these is for my CD-PRO2 CD player. I want to attenuate them by 12dB. Does anyone know the calculation to design such a network? Thanks, Gaz |

You want to attentuate the signal by a resistor network, right?
12 dB would be something around a factor of 4 (voltage factor=10^(x dB/20)) so you basically want a quarter of the original signal. Cheers Jens |

Thanks,
I just needed my brain jump starting. I got values for R1 to be 3k and R2 to be 1k in normal potential divider cofiguration. Thanks again, Gaz |
