Hi,
I am looking for the 2SK246-GR2 transistor and have found a 2SK246-GRTPE2. Can I use the 2SK246GR TPE2 in place of the 2SK246-GR2? Thanks, Paul |

Where did you find these references??
What matters is they are GR (green) which defines the Idss range. The rest is (i suppose) manufacturing codes, and is unimportant to the device specs Look at a datasheet to understand |

Maybe Sony had a narrower GR IDSS range pre-selected by the manufacturer so they would not require production selection or potentiometer tweeking on the line and the manufacturer labeled them that way to indicate the narrower IDSS range.
