NJR has some new opamps designed specifically for audio use.
MUSES 01 , MUSES 02, MUSES 8820 and MUSES 8920.

Digikey seems to carry the first three .

01 and 02 cost US$50/0 each !

The 8820 costs $4.20 each. 8920 isn't available as yet as it's unlisted.

Has anyone used these devices and 'heard' what they can do ?

Pure sonic nirvana ? :)

My only surprise is that it took manufacturers so long to capitalize on audio fashion!
$ 50 for a mediocre opamp, that's called agressive marketing.
Of course, the first guy who shells out those $ 50 will immediately report how incredible high end this is!
But there's a bright side to this: it may finally make opamps acceptable in high end audio. 3 pins good, 8 pins better ;) !

Sorry guys, I posted in the other thread also. I didn't find and response and so thought that maybe the other post was too old ! I just needed to be patient !;)

I do hope that someone would have tried out this chip. They mentioned that it was for "mass market" use especially in pro audio and mass market mp3 players ! At $50/- each ?

What were they drinking ?
