I want to buy 1000ft 14 awg wire but every single place I talk to wants a reseller/tax id. I must have called 15 places and none of them will sell to an individual.

For future reference... They will sell to an individual. That individual must have a tax ID though.
They are selling the wire wholesale, so it is up to the "reseller"/retailer to pay the applicable sales tax.

I'm not going to get into an argument with you cause I really dont care but I will say that I have heard the difference and it is well worth the extra cost. If you havent heard back to back comparisons I urge you to try it.
