Trying to determine value of Caps
I was looking under the hood of my Music Reference RM10 mk1 and noticed that the coupling caps are Nichicon. The printed letters on the caps say 1000K 600V. I was somewhat taken aback that there was no mention of microfarads.
So does 1000K mean 1000 picofarads? If so, wouldn't that would mean that these coupling caps are .001 uF ?
A normal size for 600V "plastic" cap coupling is 10nF-3.3uF. 10nF is rarely used for coupling, sometimes used in AC EMI filter. 100nF is common for coupling, but it cannot be marked with 1000K. 1000K can only means 1uF. Without known marking, many film caps are in PF. So 1000K = 1000000pF = 1000nF = 1uF.
If it is an axial cap with length around 4cm, I'm sure it is 1uF
