Can i use one of these industrial isolation transformers to power a power amplifier? http://rswww.com/cgi-bin/bv/browse/M...id=-1031322297 i could remove the transformer from the housing...

These are not in the European catalogue (as I remenber)...
The insulation transformers are as "good" as all other standard transformers, an you can use the for your Power Amplifier... However you will need two (one for positive and one for negative rail) which gives you app. +/- 155 on the rail...... THAT IS AN AMAZING AMP

I like your idea, however with that rail Voltage the other components get rather expencive...
That's why I stick to everything below +/-100 Volts on the rails

Yes! You can have two sets of rail, however in the voltage amplification stage you need to use the same rail voltage as the output.....
So it will only be the input stage that runs on lower voltage!
