22 awg solid soft copper for interconnects?

Hey everyone. I did a little reading on the forum and found a lot of information about building fancy cables, and while I want quality cables, I'd also like to use what I have laying around. Solid soft 22 awg (0.64 mm) copper wire and some 18 awg (1mm) teflon tubing. Now I know people use 22 and 24 awg silver for RCA interconnects all the time, but would I get decent quality out of the solid copper? I don't expect it to rival the silver, but I would like for it to be worth my time and the money I spend on rca plugs.

Your advice and comments are greatly appreciated!

What style of interconnects?
For un-balanced interconnects, the most import thing is a heavy braided shield, at least equal to 14 AWG wire.
For balanced interconnects, the most important thing is summitry of the two signal wires to ground. This is hard to do with individual wires.

use the copper wire. its the standard. and besides, silver wire would degrade over time (I don't believe million dollar audiophile wires dudes).
