Inventables.com - source for parts
I rediscovered this last night. Might not be new to everyone, but check out these heat pipes : Heat Pipes
And, if you need non-standard couplings. Say between a drawer pull (because there are some really cool shaped drawer pulls), threaded rod and a pot or switch.
