Default Hakko soldering station temperature setting cards

Hi,

I have a Hakko soldering station but no temperature control card. Can someone tell me if I can rig up a card using something else? I tried a playing card, but that didn't work. I took the unit apart and it looks like there are 2 LEDs on one side, and 2 photosensitive elements (I think) on the other side. So.... does the light on both need to be interrupted for it to work? Are there any holes or slots in the original card which would allow one LED to shine through and the other to be blocked?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Saurav

I made cut out in piece of cardboard to block the second led and let the first see throw. It worked like a charm.

OK, which one's the first and which one's the second? Is the cutout at the end of the card, or a little bit inside?

It should look some thing like this:

XXX XXXXXXX
XXX XXXXXXX
XXXXXXXXXXXX
XXXXXXXXXXXX

Or if you lazy just tape the led that is very inside.
