Default audio digital delay chip in leaded dip pkg.?

I'm building a 2>5 surround sound extractor (my own brew), and I'd like to have an adjustable single delay (not reverb) (0 - 50mS) on the front center channel (the other four outputs will go through a Lexicon MX400 quad reverb). I want to be able to adjust the time delay in very small increments (1mS would be nice). I just need a sigle channel, but I want it to be very high quality and preferably all in one leaded IC chip. Writing any code and/or using microprocessors is over my head. I could rig up an ADC and DAC separately if necessary. Does anyone know of such a device, or have any suggestions in general? Everything I found on the web is very old, except for a TI chip that's not leaded and requires a micro-p.

Thanks,

Bob R.
