Default What the difference between TO-220AB and TO-247AC?

What the difference between TO-220AB and TO-247AC packages? Power handing or other for DIY? Or they pretty much interchangeable?

TO-247: Higher power, physically ~1/3 bigger, double the lead spacing, isolated mounting hole.

I use to247AC for high power amps.
The to220 arent up to it for class A or class AB higher power amps.

You can get away with to220 for class d amps in pairs upto 500watts.

Thank you guy for the replays.
So if specified TO220 I could use TO247 if it's phisically fit. I don't care about leg bending.
Is it TO247 electrically insulated from heatsink on the back? If yes it'll make my life easier.
Also I didn't find different power handling for different packages for the same mofets. Probably I looked in the wrong place.

Vlad
The tab is connected to the drain so you need insulating washers.

It might be hard to fit a to247 into a t220 pcb holes as one is 0.1" and the other is 0.2" spacing.
