I need to put some binding posts on a Classe CA-101 I picked up a couple weeks ago. The original owner had soldered Kimber Kable 4TC directly to the amp's PCB. Sadly, the wires were too short for my needs, so I'm putting some binding posts back on.
I picked up a couple cheapie binding posts from Parts Express, but they're a little too small. The cutouts on the amp are 1/2" in diameter, with the usual 3/4" center-to-center spacing. The amp currently has little rubber inserts in those holes, though I don't know whether those are original equipment or were added when the Kimber Kable mod was done. I think I can get away with using a non-insulated binding post if I leave the inserts in place, but I'd rather remove them and get a post with its own insulation that fills the full 1/2" (which the posts from Parts Express do not). Any suggestions? I've been looking at some of the budget Cardas posts, which I think have the necessary 1/2" size, but I can't tell whether they provide complete chassis insulation or not. Anyone using these? Or have any better suggestions? Thanks, Matt |

Matt,
Check out this thread. Cardas patented binding post There are quite a few other threads that also weigh the pros and cons of different binding posts.
