Hello,
I am looking for a couple transformers to use in a DAC. Need one for digital stages and one for analog. I am pretty sure I am looking for a toroidal design with sperate screens for the primary and secondary sides. Who makes the best quality out there? I am located in Europe so really would prefer a European supplier. Regards Skibum |

Lundahl makes very good c-core transformers. Their US distributor makes a DAC kit that uses the Lundahl LL1674 amorphous core transformers for the D/A (I/V) conversion with the Ti DAC chips.

Plitron not only makes custom transformers for several high-end power amp manufactures but my personal experience with their product has been excellent. They have one of the widest selections of various types of toroidals and can make anything you want, for a price.

throwing money at PS xfmr isn't as good as designing the supply for good isolation
split bobbin EI can be better if you don't have a low noise, low Z "technical gnd" to terminate the higher C of the toroid shields to |
