swap dome tweeter for ribbon?
Hello all, I have a pair of Tyler Acoustics Taylo Reference monitors:
Taylo Speaker Line I am curious about swapping the existing tweeter for a ribbon tweeter. I really like the ribbon sound, and I'm wondering about the feasibility of a swap. The Taylo Reference use the ScanSpeak Revelator. Specs and photo here: https://www.madisound.com/store/prod...roducts_id=914 I'm cusious about swapping them out for Mundorf AMT2310C. Specs and photo here: https://www.madisound.com/store/prod...oducts_id=8803 Not knowing much about crossovers, I'm wondering if there are other modifications that need to be done? Or if just a straight swap out of the tweeters is all that is needed? Can any of you crossover / tweeter guru's comment? Both look to have similar 91 db/W sensitivity, and similar 2000 Hz recommended crossover frequency, so it should just be a straight swap, no? Thanks everyone. |

let us know what the cross over is made of,
(show us a picture) that will make this alot easer . i's suspect that AIR MOTION TRANSFORMERs ought to be able to work in this sort of swap . have to see the crossover first ... Last edited by tomtt; 22nd July 2011 at 09:09 PM. Reason: '39' |
