On a couple builds now I have found that the nice russian PIO type caps seem to be susibtile to picking up a low pitched hum around SS devices like mofsets/jfets. I'll notice this after upgrading from a generic plyester box cap to a iuf KY40 or K75. Has anyone else noticed this issue?
Would it be from cramming the much larger cap in a box cap space with the lead exposed? On the first buid I grounded the cases and that seemed to take care of it. Has anyone else noticed this phenomenom? |

Yes I have experienced this as well. Not as specific as your case. (i.e. I hadn't linked it to proximity to SS devices)
I believe the cases are magnetic so it may be an inductive effect. Grounding the cases indeed works. |
