Default Help Find 8-awg 2000+ strand Abbey Road Speaker Cable

Looking to find cable similar to the Abbey Road Speaker cable that is 2000+ stranded 8awg silver coated copper wire.

I've seen mil spec cable like this with 1200+ strands before, but can't find it anywhere. There is some 10awg 413 strand on eBay. Anyone have any recommendations, advice, or comments?

Why on earth would you want 8AWG wire? 8AWG is rated at 35 Amps, max. save power, loss to a 1000 W/8 Ohm speaker would be 0.5 dB after a 200' of cable run (0.26 Ohm). Silver coating would do no good at audio frequencies (unless, of course, you have golden golden ears).
Would it not be cheaper to move the amp to the speaker and install a power plant nearby?

Last time I was in Abbey Road, they were using VanDamme standard 2.5mm...

I can hear the difference between 8' of 10 ga extra flexible 3SO-10 cord, and 20' of 16 ga zip cord. This is at 8 ohms and 60 watts peak (1Vpp average), 4 ohms would be worse. Test record was top octave Steinway grand, solo. 3SO cord is sold by electrical supplies for extension cords in factories. 4SO might be cheaper, they keep it for 3 phase motors. Make sure you get the extra flexible version, should be about 400 strands per wire. Mine is surplus from the factory dumpster, since slightly worn insulation is a hazard at the 460 VAC this stuff is designed for.

Pinkmouse, you win. I will try VanDamme standard 2.5mm before anything esoteric.

Do you know if they use VanDamme standard 2.5mm on both their tweeters/midrange and woofers on their B&W series?

I know B&W internal wire uses 12awg OFC on their subs and Copper/Silver 14AWG Van Den Hul CS-14 on their tweeters/midrange.

Sorry Bert, I wasn't paying that much attention. Just dropping off some spares, drinking tea and gossiping.

Now I'm really curious.....

Another thread (from an Abbey road engineer) said that they used 4 x 4mm Van Damme Black tour grade.
