Morning All,
I'm building a simple headphone amp that I want to fit inside a 2.5" hard drive enclosure. There's enough internal space to fit all the other components, however, I am having trouble finding a dual gang pot which is small enough. The maximum internal height is 16mm and the height between the PCB and the top is even less at 10mm. Are there any really tiny dual gang pots available in the UK? Many Thanks Stephen PS: Here's an example of what the HDD enclosure looks like: http://www.asia.ru/images/target/pho..._Enclosure.jpg They're very cheap to buy and most have a PCB mounting rail on the inside. They also come in a range of colours and finishes. The only downside is that most come with text written on the enclosure like "2.5 USB HDD Enclosure" but I can live with that and if it really bothers me, I could respray it. |

probably the little green alps ones from RS components....
Honestly I never bother with volume controls on portale headphone amps anymore, all the sources have volume controls. |

@digits
Thanks for putting me in the right direction. As a result I found this: Alps | Passives | Resistors | Trimmers, Potentiometer and Rheostat | Carbon Track |STRK97O7 It's a 10K Dual Gang 1 Turn Logarithmic Pot. It's main body height is 6.5mm which is just the size I need. Thanks |

The 6.5mm is from the base to center.
Total height is 6.5 + 4.85 = 11.35mm |

I suppose with some clever gear wheels, you could mount the pot inside somewhere?
