Hi, Well all these are ICs that can be used to make a standalone DAC
with upsampler except the usb IC unless you want usb function which may be more complex? |

I could use an SPDIF DAC at home and a USB DAC, eventually, no big rush.
I should have said, I'm really not capable of building something from scratch, I'd need some good plans, and even a PCB if available. |

Hi, I guess you have to search online but I'm not confident you will find
one that uses all the ICs you have in one circuit. If you follow the data sheets or other similar circuits available you should be able to draw up a circuit and send it to a pcb maker for a prototype pcb.(Although I'm not supposed to say this, use a cracked version of eagle professional and get around the limitation of 3 X 4 inch pcb. It's easily found in file library sites.Note there are many versions.Pick one that says cracked with the patch file included.) |

Hmm, looks like a good fit. How would I get a PCB made for that, though?

Ok, ezDAC still has a few boards, so that is an option. The only other board out there I can find is the Twisted Pear COD. Anyone have an opinion on which sounds better?
Shoot, I wish I had a PCM 2706 rather than a 2704, I could have done a Mute Audio Grub DAC. Last edited by Netdewt; 4th February 2011 at 01:58 PM. |
