Default difference between inductors?

This may sound like a weird question, but whats the difference between air core inductors and perfect layer inductors?

Perfect layer basically means that the windings of each successive layer fall in the grooves formed by the preceding layer.

Inductors Solen S14

Other than that they are air-cored inductors, although the form factor may also be computer optimised for Q.

So basically they're the same thing? if I need 1.1 mH then just go with the cheapest? Is there one with more DCR?

No. If you want the absolute minimum DCR buy the perfect layer made by Solen or any other manufacturer claiming computer optimised. I don't know if any other manufacturer does make them, but there should be no difference if they do. Computer optimised is optimised. You can always compare DCRs vs. inductance.
