Hi Folks.

I am trying to clone the JBL powered sub to go with my new LSR25 speakers, and am having a problem sourcing the above devices, made by Rohm.

Google search gives me nowhere in the UK that stocks them, so I was wondering if anyone knows of equivalents, or has datasheets for them so I can go for a search myself.

Would MJE1530/1 work, I have loads of them? :)

Hi, Pinkmouse

2SD1763A: NF-E, 160/160V, 1,5A, 20W, 80MHz
2SB1186A: NF-E, 120V, 1,5A, 20W, 50MHz
Both are listed as complementary parts.
You could replace the with:

2SB1186A: 2SA1306(A,B), 2SA1332, 2SA1606

MJE15030: NF-L, 150/150V, 8A, 50W, >30MHz
MJE15031: NF-L, 150/150V, 8A, 50W, >30MHz
Datasheets for MJE15030/1:

Here's data for the 2SC4159/2SA1606:

And here for the 2SC4883A and the 2SA1859A which are complementary too:

Thanks for that Hugo

Unfortunately I can't seem to get any of those in quantities of less than 200, the usual small order suppliers such as RS, Farnell and Rapid don't seem to stock the Sanyo parts :(

I will keep searching for the Sankens though, and looking at the Onsemi website, the MJE15032/2 looks a bit closer in spec as well. More research needed I think!

I can get you the original parts (2SD1763A, 2SB1186A) if you want, in small (one or more) quantities.

Thanks for your offer, but after about 6 hours fruitless searching it seems that getting just about any Japanese transistors in the UK is just about impossible, I might have to put this project on hold as I can't get any of the small signal ones either.:(

It's a shame 'cos it looks like an interesting amp, with split supply rails, and an interesting front end, a good learning project.

Oh well, back to the drawing board!
