I am brand new to this site and have a technical question. I want to add a DACT balance attenuator to my Quicksilver preamp that lacks its own balance. Is it possible to insert the DACT using the preamp's tape loop, and, if so, where might I find how to do this?
Many thanks from a DIY newbie. |

Welcome aboard, Bojack.
I'm afraid a balanced attenuator won't turn the unbalanced input on your Quicksilver into a balanced input. The DACT is intended to be used with input stages which are already balanced. If you want a balanced input, you can add an input transformer. This would give you a balanced input without any other modifications to the Quicksilver. se |

Steve,
Thanks for your response, but I may not have clearly stated what my goal is. I want to add a balance pot, as the QS does not have its own. I hope this clarifies. Any advice? |
