Default SMD Caps

Hello everyone

I want to try SMD Caps to decoupling in IC pins, but I have no experience with SMD components.

What are the brand and type of SMD Caps recommended?

I use Epcos 100nF, 50v X7R in 1206 case style for power supply decoupling. Working with 0805 isn't too hard but 0603 and smaller are a right pain!

Nice one,
David.

At work we use various brands of 100nF/50, 63V 0805. All of them have worked properly.

If you don't have pcb's with groundplane there's not much advantage to use SMD parts.
