Default Bypass capacitor question

What do you guys use to bypass a large cap with a small one? Do you use ceramic or film? Which one is better? Or is that dependent on the use of the large cap, e.g., for a large cap used in a power supply bypassing it with ceramic is better but for a large cap used for signal coupling bypassing it with film is better? I've been getting different opinions on this and would like to lay the matter to rest.

Those data:
paralleling film caps with electrolytic caps
more or less settle the question.

That's a great thread with convincing info that busts the myth! Now my question is moot for it turns out that bypassing a capacitor locally/directly on its terminals is not good and should be avoided. Thank you so much for the heads up!
