Default does linear POT have better tracking that a log one?

I'm thinking of dual-gang and hoping the matching on both channels would be good.

also the POT is carbon type.

Have you considered conductive plastic or cermet POTs: they will be less noisy,particularly as you scrape the wiper over the POT's track.

Bourns make some cheap but effective pots (Type 81 & 91).
