IXYS N-Type MOSFET

I have access to some used IXFB38N100QF MOSFETs and I was wondering if they'd be acceptable for audio use. The price for these is quite high at $18 or so, but my price for them is considerably less They're rated at 1000V/38A so they seem like a little overkill. Please take a look at the datasheet. I'd love to hear any comments from more experienced builders.

BTW, I tested a few for Vgs and they come in slightly higher than IRFP240a at around 6V.

They'll work nicely for power supply applications.

Do you have any examples of MOSFET based power supplies? I have only seen CRC style supplies with large cap reserves.

A single pair would be good for a 400W sub amp. They seem reasonably fast and you might just get away with using them full range. They take a lot of driving though.
