is it possible to make solder flow on to 20awg solid copper with 25watt iron?

Depends on the surface area and the initial temperature.
You can easily do something about the second one...

20 ga is pretty thin..... a 25 watt iron should have no problem....maybe your tip needs cleaning or a new one

it might be 18. it flowed easy like onto the terminal for this switch, but i couldn't get it to work on this fuse holder.

i just plugged in this transformer for the first time and i didn't die.

also you never mentioned the type of solder you are using...I personaly use 60/40 .75 mm for power connections

Hmm, might be a long shot, but is that a transformer secondary your trying to solder? They are usually covered with some lacquer that’s not always easy so solder. If so try scraping it off with a knife.

Step 1. Put down crappy weak iron.
Step 2. Reach into pocket.
Step 3. Withdraw cigarette lighter.
Step 4. Use lighter to solder. Tonnes more power.
