Hi All,
A bit of a plea to the masses here, I'm hoping someone out there knows of just the right box that will do what I need. I design AV systems for a university and am trying to set up a simple zone audio with a somewhat fixed recipe of components.. The fixed components in the design are an Australian Monitor IN400 switcher/amplifier (8 ohm out) and 10 x QF8 ceiling speakers (100v). To bump the speaker audio up to 100v we will use a simple transformer, no probs there. The user would like to be able to select between a single speaker zone and all speakers. To do this I've found the Xantech SR21 speaker switcher with is relay controllable. To make this easier to follow I've attached the audio diagram.. Ok so this design works, but it's not ideal.. To many potential points of failure and 9dB worth of insertion loss makes it quite inefficient. Are there any controllable devices out there that will do the 8ohm to 100v conversion and speaker switching in a single step? |
