I am trying to find ID on one of a bunch of types of old caps I got from an estate sale. Really cool bunch of stuff w/ bumblebees/black beauties/orange drops/lots of cool old pio - kemet, astron, pyramid, GI, and many brands.
Since I have all this stuff, and a few old amps/receivers lying around, I was thinking of trying some recap projects. Questions following would be directed to home audio use of some of the caps I have. So I have these tiny yellow axial caps with darker yellow end material. The say ESSEX WEE 3.3 on them and I have about 20 of them. They are about 6 mm long and 2.5 mm wide, tubular in shape. Any ideas? Also got some vintage siemens what look to be mylar, are these anywhere as good as the pio stuff that everyone raves about? Also can't find info on sprague yellow jacket caps. Heavy enough to be pio, but look like mylars. Also wondering if the elemenco brown drops are any good, or at least as good as the orange drops. I have LOTS of the elemenco. Aerovox ceramic caps any good? Tons of stuff, I apologize. Thanks in advance, B. |
