Here's an inside view of the 8TP-3, Raytheon's first transistor AM radio and the world's second. The chassis shares much with tube radio construction: metal chassis, socketed transistors (similar to how tubes were plugged into sockets), large tuning capacitor and large paper/wax capacitors.
Schematics and more informations there: ray8tp Transistor Radio 8TP-1 (8TP1) Ch= 8RT1 (8-RT-1) Radio Raythe |

I think about to start a thread with vintage analoge integrated circuits (IC's 1957 until 1975) so as a collection of cover pics from the appropriate data books. Where I filed this thread at best?

who can post more cover pictures of japanese transistor databooks like the few examples about post #37?
http://auctions.yahoo.co.jp/ is therefore the best source (keyword "Databook", "Data Book" so as this term in japan language). I am looking in the moment to the databook from Sanken where as the "ST610" and the "ST-615" is inside (databook about Sanken's first silicon power devices). The importantest information for me is the exactly title calling so as the date of first release. Last edited by tiefbassuebertr; 28th February 2011 at 05:01 PM. |

I have a Bryan transistor amplifier that is fitted with most unusual plastic power transistors the metal tabs have a hole at the top and also 1 at the bottom
the base comes out the left side at the side and the emitter at the right side not at the bottom but at the middle side in each case These are RCA devices but I can read no more on the package ? Have you come across this package before regards Trev |

"bryan transistor amplifier" ??
I don't find any information about google with this term. What is the year of manufacturing? is it a amplifier for stage/public address, home-hifi or guitar/instrumental? Last edited by tiefbassuebertr; 6th April 2011 at 10:29 AM. |
