8TP-3 (8TP3), World's second and Raytheon's first transistor AM radio

Here's an inside view of the 8TP-3, Raytheon's first transistor AM radio and the world's second. The chassis shares much with tube radio construction: metal chassis, socketed transistors (similar to how tubes were plugged into sockets), large tuning capacitor and large paper/wax capacitors.

Schematics and more informations there:

who can post more cover pictures of japanese transistor databooks like the few examples about post #37?
http://auctions.yahoo.co.jp/
is therefore the best source (keyword "Databook", "Data Book" so as this term in japan language).
I am looking in the moment to the databook from Sanken where as the "ST610" and the "ST-615" is inside (databook about Sanken's first silicon power devices). The importantest information for me is the exactly title calling so as the date of first release.

I have a Bryan transistor amplifier that is fitted with most unusual plastic power transistors the metal tabs have a hole at the top and also 1 at the bottom
the base comes out the left side at the side and the emitter at the right side not at the bottom but at the middle side in each case
These are RCA devices but I can read no more on the package ?
Have you come across this package before
regards Trev

Bryan were made from about 1964 to about 1972 and were of the same quality as leak ,Rogers etc very high quality domestic amplifiers
Manufactured in Hale Manchester here in the UK
2 main models were produced the 900 and the 9000 as well as a few others
They started out as Germanium amplifiers but ended with our old friend the Silicon 2n3055 as the output devices
They are a varient of the Toby Dinsdale amplifier but with lots of detail variation !
I have posted on the UK Vintage Radio Discussion Forums forum if you use the search function with bryan you will find further information as well as pictures
you will see also a picture of the strange output transistors and I look forward to your comments
regards Trev

Any idea where to get a data-sheet or specs for this fellow ?

about post #26 I ask the same concerning Bendix transistors. About post #28 and #29 there are more photos from Delco power devices. If we have at least exact title of the data book respective appropriate folders, the name of publisher so as the date of first release, we can go to the interlibrary loan service of the local library for order copies.
This informations here are absolutely necessary.
Cover pics of this data books and datasheets are very helpful in this case.
Older employees in the concerned department of GM in Detroit have here perhaps a chance to find anything.

Here is the cover of the 1981 RCA Power Devices book that I have ,The number on the bottom of the binding is SSD-220C.
As I had stated in the other thread I have the 1967 RCA Transistor manual but but the cover is missing however I did find the other half of the book but there are a few pages missing.
hopfully I wil be able to find those too one day.
