Identifying this damn cap?

Hey guys,

I may be the only one, but I find caps hard to identify. I've got a bunch here labeled:

MDC Z5U
1000M
1.5K V

the other side is blank. The case is like a ceramic cap only thicker. I also have some tantelum caps that say:

224
ADP

on one side and

270
AIJ

on the other. So whats the deal, is it 220000pF or 27pF...? Its a tiny cap, so I'm guessing 27pF.

Pete

P.S. Yes, you can freely make fun of me...

Z5U is a well-known code for a very bad ceramic dielectric. M is probably a tolerance code, meaning +/- 20%, which is a good value for the initial tolerance at room temperature and low voltage for Z5U capacitors (they vary more over their temperature and voltage ranges). 1000 is then almost certainly the capacitance in pF and 1.5KV denotes a 1.5kV maximum working voltage.

All in all, these are very bad 1000pF +/-20% ceramic high voltage capacitors, capable of handling 1.5kV.
