Hi NYC, I'm in Los Angeles. I record mostly pop rock. I have a DAW (Digital Audio Workstation) based on an AMD quad core PC running Sonar and some plugins and VST instruments. My soundcard is a Delta 1010 that is linked via SPDIF to a Mytek Stereo96 ADC and a TubeDAC-09 DAC. I have many microphones, mic preamps, guitar effects, reverb and other outboard gear. I also use a synth/keyboard connected via MIDI, some electric and acoustic guitars and amps. My room is sound proofed and acoustically treated. All of these took me years to accumulate, build, tweak, and I'm still not finished!

Hi NYC, thanks a lot for introducing me to ambiophonics! It's very interesting, and it's great to know that it will work with traditional stereo recordings on CD, LP, etc. to bring them to the next level of listening experience -- the surround realism of "being there". I hope this technology will become an industry standard as it looks very promising.
Stephan's software are very interesting. Nice find! I'll check them out later and see if they can integrate or work in synergy with my current listening app, Foobar 2000.
Thanks also for referring Filmsound.org! It will be a great go-to site if/when I get involved in a sound design project for movies.
