Default power transformers - where in the uk?

Ive got all the components to make 4 mono Zen amp channels, but the bit thats eluding me are the transformers. Where in the uk can i get torroids with the required rateings 500+ va , 6a+ and 18 - 50v?

Hi sippy,
have you tried Farnell Electronics as they have a huge range on offer? Or you could try Antrim Transformers Ltd, their website offers toroids designed specifically for audio.
You will probably find what you are looking for with one of the above.

Which Zen amp are you building?

I've bought from AirLink for a couple of projects. Well made, worked.

I have used Rapid and Farnell.
But most of my transformers have come from Ebay listings. You have to be patient with this option, but that potentially saves a lot of money.

I would agree with Andrew T about ebay. It's always worth checking the site out.
I picked up a pair of toroids that were supposed to be 500va, 2 x 35v secondaries, but they were 625va with 2 x 35v sec. for about £35.00........Bargain

Thanks for the links guys, its either Farnells or Rapid electronics - Ebay has been a total pain in the rear for me in the past with goods arriving months late. Im waiting for the metal surpliers to get back to me with a price for the casework/heatsink bits i havent ordered them yet - made the mistake of not sorting out the enclosure on my first diy build and the amps sat on 2 bits of mdf for 18 months before a drunk freind dropped his beer on them.........
I'll be posting pics of the finnished Zen/s when I'm done,so keep an eye out.
