2SB557/2SD427 replacement options

Hi Folks.

Working with a sick SX-950

I would appreciate some advice on suitable replacements for 2SB557/2SD427. Ideally, I would like to match or exceed the original spec.

I've done a bit of research and came across MJ21193/94. They seem pretty popular. I'm curious how they sound and hold up compared to the originals.

Then theres 2ST5949/2ST2121 which look great, except typical ft=25 MHz. These would seem too fast by a long stretch. Can we slow them down without too much sacrifice?

What other options are readily available?

I've searched the forums, but nothing new to discover there.

The 2SB557 is mfg by Toshiba. Here's some subs:
2SB688 Toshiba
2SB849 NEC

The 2SD427 is also Toshiba and subs to:
2SD718 Toshiba

Back in the day, I remember using a lot of the 2SB688/2SD718 replacements.
