These are going into the preamp section of the HK430 receiver. I've attached datasheets for a few candidates, but first, what would be the most important characteristics for this application? Here is the data in a table format:
2SC1344 (E) 2N3390 BC550CG Vcbo 30 25 45 Vce 30 25 50 Veb 5 5 5 Ic 100 100 100 Power Diss 200 625 625 hfe 400/800 400/800 420/800 small signal hfe 540 400 600 noise ? The small signal hfe and noise figures are hard to compare because the measurements are not apples to apples, but I think the noise figures are low for all. Is the 2N3390 "good enough"? Do I need to purchase a bunch of BC550 C because I'm likely to need them often in audio repair and their specs are decent? The 2N3390s are an amazing 4 cents each at newark, the BC550C are 13 cents! |
