IC Heat sinks

Where can I purchase IC heat sinks? I am building a Tube Lab simple SE and need two heatsinks for constant current source IC. If you can provide me a part number, that would be even better.

you can buy heatsinks for individual transistors and ICs from places like MOuser, or hobbyist places like Jameco. And the surplus houses will likely have some as well.

But do you have any dead consumer electromnics around your shop? A cassette deck might have a couple in it, or a dead CD player. A dead VCR maybe. other pieces of gear as well. And stereo receivers usually have a large heatsink for hte ower transistors and often smaller ones for other components.

You didn't mention IC size.
- might start with standard supplier, AAVID/Thermalloy, to get an idea of selection.

There's nice little heatsinks in computer-land too.
e.g. Take 2 - Zalman ZM-RHS1 VGA Memory Heat Sink - Electronics

I cut a leftover one in half with a hacksaw for use on a couple of little smd voltage regulators that were running stupidly hot.
