Default Simple PCB software

Here's certainly an easy question that might have a not so simple
Do any of my good fellows know where can I get a SIMPLE software program to design PCB artwork? I've been looking
extensively on the Web for such a program but what I only
can find is too complicated programs for 4, 5, 6 or much more layers of design with the consequent complication of an
elaborate program. I'm too old to learn these complicated
I started doubting that there is such thing as a SIMPLE program
with which I can design the art work for analog circuits (with
transisors, of course) just with one side PCB.
Could you fellows help?
I think PCB 123 could do the trick but again I don't think it can
do just one side PCB... Besides, I would like to be able to
etch my own boards.

Thanks in advance for some advise.

the free software for the expresspcb service is wonderfully simple to place pads and draw traces.
I think the official output is a gerber file.
I just print it -rescale if I need to-and copy onto a transparency
you may be looking for something more sophisticated?

Thanks very much for the advise, I will try it.
No, definitly not, I don't need anything more sofisticated, I
already have my time absorbed with other things, to waste it
with complicated learning curves.
Thanks anyway.
