We have had a number of failures over time of these IGBTs when used in PWM bridged motor drive and are wondering if there are any other users of these devices out there that could comment either way on their reliability. From the datasheet we seem to be well within their ratings.

Aren't these devices prone to secondary breakdown in the same way as bjt's ?
I think you have to look carefully at the application, and whether the SOAR is being compromised. Many IGBT's on offer here, which you've probably seen CPC | New product and manufacturers highlights |

As I said, we are in compliance with the datasheet, including SOA.
You are right, some bargains on CPC at the moment. Hadn't looked at that page yet though so thanks.
